Timber
At Forest we use only the highest quality of timbers from sustainable resources. Careful wood grain selection prevents from any construction distortion or cracking and ensures long lasting window durability. Forest windows can be supplied in Redwood (softwood) or oak, utile, sapele, meranti and iroko (hardwood)
The softwood timbers have an advanced Eco-friendly borate based preservation system applied, which prevents any attack from fungus and rot, as well as protecting against the natural degradation of the timber and water absorption.
Glass
Forest offers a contemporary choice of double-glazing solutions to meet with the performance demands of the building regulations relating to thermal efficiency, fire resistance, safety, and sound reduction. This includes obscure glass, tinted glass, self-cleaning glass, fire resistant glass, laminated glass and toughened glass.
Our compound glass has a heat penetration rate of U-Value 1 W/m2K, which is far lower than the require u-value of 1.8 W/m2K, and provides powerful window thermal insulation.
Our standard range of argon filled double glazed units, consisting of 2 panes of 4mm float glass, reduces cold pane effect and condensation and achieves a 32dB reduction rating. Alternatively special acoustic insulation glazing is available on request.
Glazing bars
Glazing bars are used as a decorative element often corresponding to a traditional architectural style. Our glazing bars are either fitted onto the glass or are part of the actual structure thus dividing the glazed areas into smaller parts.
Ventilators
Our slot ventilators are ideal for directing the incoming airflow and are fitted onto the frame head. Our external vent canopy gives protection against rain and insects and comes in a choice of aluminium or plastic.
Handles
To help complete the design of a Forest window only high quality handles are used these feature:
- Multiple choice opening devises, from a simple bush button to a fire button
- Self-latching closure

- Easy operation for reduced wear and tear
- Clearly indicated 90oC lock movement
- Screw covers
- High quality finish in a choice of white, brown, gold or nickel- however we can supply any handle of your choice
Finishes
Once you have decided upon your window type, choosing the finishing colour can be of equal importance. Forest Ltd offers a multitude of RAL K7 high performance colours in order to satisfy all customer requirements.
Our paints, stains and lacquers are water soluble, odourless and environmentally friendly, which ultimately provide a durable and long-lasting finish. These operations are carried out in environmentally friendly conditions with suitable drying temperatures and computer-controlled humidity.
Windows can be supplied with a choice of stain/ lacquer or opaque paint. Both options provide equally aesthetically pleasing results as well as locking the borate sealant into place, thus allowing us to offer exceptional warranties on all of our products.
