The most common type of threshold is regular wood which provides very good tightness, however, aluminium flush threshold can be used as an alternative and this ensures comfortable usage for wheelchair users. Another option, is a non-threshold whereby the threshold does not protrude from the floor.
As to the sliding mechanism, this can be fitted to the top or the bottom of the frame, depending on the architecture and requirements of the building.
