Door structure

The Forest team have substantial experience of timber joinery design and have created a complete range of fully engineered doors whereby standard of service matches the high quality and performance of the product.

The characteristic of the external door is a frame-panel system which guarantees great tightness thanks to two seals, one in the door leaf and one in the frame. Apart from two seals, the perfect thermal (U<1,4 W/m2K) and acoustic insulation (>30dB) is achieved thanks to the special filling – Stadur panel. It consists of two waterproof plywood facings with a special poliuretan filling.

Both, the door leaf and frame thickness equal 68mm. The widths of the frames are 140mm and 82mm.

Material used in production is the carefully selected three glued layers wood in order to minimise risk of distortion.

Our basic door includes locks with a multipoint system control and a high quality Simonswerk BAKA 3D hardware. The hardware is extremely durable and enables 3 direction hinge adjustment. In accordance with a customer’s wish, additional anti-break-in systems are available.

Doors are usually made of hardwood dark red meranti (Shorea spp.) or pine (Pinus silvestris) but other species e.g. oak are also available.

The door finish is achieved using Eco friendly water based high performance paints or stains using 2 coats. Options of colours are from the RAL K7 Range. After impregnation and staining, the doors are coated using a hydrodynamic air-combi method with acryl varnishes or with a semi-translucent system which keeps the wood texture visible.

All doors are pre hung in their frame as standard and door operation is either inward or outward.

Additional ironmongery i.e. door knockers, door closures, letter plates, spy holes are available on request.
